A year ago today I made the decision to let go of my fears about how I would be received and let my hair completely naturally begin to dread. The journey has been incredible, humbling, sometimes filled with terrifying bed head, but overall, beautiful. This decision has allowed me to learn to let go of how people will judge me based on the way I look. Once people get to know me they are always surprised, and I like that feeling. I like being able to filter out the folk who are going to be biased based on appearances. I feel more confident now than ever, and I am grateful for that. Happy birthday dreads! ♥

Not going to lie to you tumblr,
I just had one of the best nights I’ve had in a long while.
Performed at the Modern Gypsy bellydance show at Lulus in Redding, CA.
Felt like a boss. needed that confidence boost. Missed hooping as a performer, instead of just in my backyard.
and everyone around me, was so beautiful. the dances were incredible. I feel like I learned so much just by performing at the same show as such confident, talented ladies.
Oh, and my boyfriend got me drunk after :)

Colombia-based Vapor Apparel is due to launch a new 100% recycled fabric at the EcoPrint show in Berlin this week. The company, a leader in sustainable high-quality performance fabrics, will use the fabric for a new line called ‘ECO Spin.’ It has a cotton-like feel and is made from reclaimed plastic and furniture found in landfills.
